The Metalcaster of the Year is profiled in Modern Casting and receives publicity through the American Foundry Society. Past winners include NIBCO for safety, Eck Industries for R&D, Caterpillar for plant reengineering, U.S. Pipe for new plant engineering, Blackhawk de Mexico for a business turnaround, Intermet for a lean manufacturing initiative, and others. The competition is open to all North American metalcasting companies and participation is free.
