US-based Nucor Corporation hiked the base prices of steel sheets by US$125/short ton this Wednesday (March 16), effective immediately.
It was the third time that Nucor raised prices for flat-rolled products in the past month. The company raised steel sheets prices by US$50/short ton on February 25 and then hiked the prices by US$100/short ton again on March 7.
Due to a decrease in supply, the US’ hot-rolled coil price this Wednesday was up by nearly 20% compared to the previous month.
