It was reported that the import price of rebar in Singapore softened last week. The local buyers kept watching how Chinese rebar became more competitive due to RMB’s sharply depreciation and Chinese domestic prices moving down on weak demand and lower iron ore cost.
Chinese rebar currently had a price difference of about US$5/ton higher than India, Turkish and Qatar. However, most traders expected to cut their prices further as marketing still pressured in a downward trend.
