The new GL Series machines will feature a second injection unit.
Plustech, Inc., the North American Branch of Sodick’s IMM Division, is releasing a new line of two shot machines that will be added to the already existing GL Series horizontal injection molding machine line. Sodick did offer these in the past as a special configuration, although it is now a standard ‘off the shelf’ part of the line-up.
The new GL Series two shot machines will be available in 30 ton, 60 ton, 100 ton, 150 ton, and 200 ton. The second injection unit will provide a shot size that will range from 2cc to 27cc, and will be available for various material types, including LSR.
The added injection unit can be vertically mounted or side mounted, depending on the need of the application. The V-Line Two Stage Plunger second injection capability will provide an added value for two shot precision molding applications. Currently, in Asia, Sodick two-shot machines serve the connector seal molding, small cell phone components molding, and medical device molding industries. The second injection capability is ideal for micro molding applications that require tight tolerances.
The GL Series with second injection capability is the latest addition to Plustech’s line-up of horizontal injection molding machines. This high-performance model offers excellent repeatability and accurate plasticization. The machine provides advanced injection for micro features with extremely tight tolerances. It includes Sodick’s V-Line two-stage plunger system, which separates the plasticization and injection processes for consistent measurement and injection of the melt stream.
