The automated Rota-Rack parts accumulator from Royal Products allows machine tools to run unattended for extended periods of time.
The patented unit collects finished parts as they come off a CNC lathe, using an automated rotary spiral that directs parts to the center of the turntable. A low-friction UHMW material covering all contact surfaces protects the parts. The accumulator also protects the straight edges of milled parts. Part size capacity is up to 3 in. dia. and 10 in. long.
The unit plugs into a 110-V outlet, and the operator sets parameters such as part cycle time, degree of turntable rotation, and shutdown counter via a touchscreen PLC. A large-capacity, 36-in.-dia. turntable provides more than 850 sq. in. of surface area. The accumulator handles up to 700 lbs. of parts.
