Trilogy Machinery offers the Inductaflex AL-1, which is the manufacturer’s first fully electric CNC bending machine. The unit can bend most materials and profiles, from complicated aluminum extrusions to polished stainless steel tubes.
During development, the machine successfully curved a 1.77-in.-wide by 2.56-in.-high extruded aluminum window section to a 6.50-in. outside radius and 4.72-in. inside radius - - a task which the company says has traditionally been considered beyond normal limits for such an extrusion.
The unit, which can curve up to 10 radii per bar automatically, operates at running costs 70 percent less than an equivalent hydraulic machine, states the manufacturer.
