Finland-based recycling services provider Konepeikko Oy has ordered a new torch-cuting machine from UK.based plantmakerPrimetals Technologies for its scrap yard at the domestic steel producer Ovako''s facility in lmatra, FinlandAccordingly, the environmentally friendly scrap cuting machine will cut various types of scrap, including bilets and blooms, androlled bars in bundles. As a result. this investment will better position Konepeikko to meet the current and future demand for scrapsince the use of scrap in steelmaking is expected to rise to 1 billion mt per year within a few yearsAdditionally, the new equipment equipped with a dedusting system wilkeep dust emissions well below the limits set byenvironmental regulations.
