AFS Corporate Member Cadillac Casting, Inc. (Cadillac, Michigan) has embarked on a partnership with an Ohio-based gym-equipment manufacturer, Rogue Fitness, to make some of its products and distribute them worldwide. In a web statement, Rogue said, “We’re proud to have developed this line with the team at Cadillac Casting, a privately-owned Midwest foundry with nearly 100 years of history in metalcasting, and an unmatched reputation for quality.”
To begin with, Cadillac Casting will produce Rogue’s kettlebells, but, as reported by 9&10news.com, the foundry expects to transition to other products, such as plates, weightlifting plates and several other product—some of which Rogue has traditionally purchased in China and other low cost countries. Cadillac Casting, Inc. said it is proud to be aligned with a global manufacturer.
Rogue notes that its new series of ductile iron kettlebells is available in 12 weight increments, from 9-88 lbs. and features a black E-Coat finish. The electrically-applied E-coat finish—noted for superior adhesion and corrosion resistance—goes on thinner than a traditional powder coat, Rogue states online, allowing for a lustrous finish without losing the underlying texture of the casting. A flat, machined base allows for steady storage without wobble.
According to its website, Rogue is among the single largest producers of American-made strength and conditioning equipment, including its own line of original power racks, barbells, and bumper plates.
