WBMS: Global zinc market in short supply of 78,000 tons in H1 2019-The 21st China(Guangzhou) Die-casting, Foundry & Industry Furnace Exhibition

According to the report released by the World Bureau of Metal Statistics (WBMS) on August 21st, in the first half of this year, the global zinc market had a supply shortage of 78,000 tons, compared to a surplus of 64,000 tons in the whole of 2018.
During the same period, global zinc production had a year-on-year decline of 1.7%, while the global consumption increased by 4.3% year on year.
The demand for zinc in the world rose by around 280,000 tons in the first half of this year compared to the same period a year ago. Among them, the apparent demand from China accounted for the largest proportion of 47%, totaling around 3.13 million tons.
