ArcelorMittal Ostrava launches modernised continuous casting - Ms Dvorakova-Die casting & Foundry Expo

Ms Barbora Cerna Dvorakova, AMO spokeswoman, said that steel maker ArcelorMittal Ostrava recently launched into operation a modernized continuous casting machine that will enable it to increase the quality of its steel and produce billets with high value added.
The billets will be used in the production of pipes for oil and natural gas extraction.
The company invested Kc1bn into the modernization.
AMO has already obtained an important contract to supply over 3 million tonnes of steel billets to Saudi Arabia thanks to the investment.
Mr Tapas Razdekar CEO and board chairman of AMO said that the investment has increased the competitiveness of the company significantly since it produces higher-quality and purer steel. Exports to Near East are a way of dealing with the unfavourable situation on the European steel market.
