Bihler offers the 4Slide NC machine. It features a standardized control system that integrates with any of the company’s process modules. The machine also is compatible with select mechanical machines, allowing users to integrate the unit into their existing operations.
The system produces small lot sizes for evaluation or immediate order fulfillment, with very short setup times and fast production speeds, the company reports. It reduces changeover/conversion times by as much as 80 percent, with productivity increases as high as 100 percent over traditional systems, according to the manufacturer.
Features include a VariControl VC1 machine and process controller installed in a modular, stand-alone cabinet; a 15-in. TFT touchscreen; variable production speeds of 0 to 250 parts per min.; standard servo clamp feed or optional endless “caterpillar” feed; 7- or 21-ton press capability; and 4.7-in. servo grip feed.
The unit is suitable for producing strip and wire parts in both batch and full-scale production orders.
