Quintiq, a Dassault Systèmes company and a global leader in supply chain planning and optimization (SCP&O), will provide global stainless steel producer Outokumpu with a fully integrated supply chain planning system.
Outokumpu’s long-standing relationship with Quintiq began in 2008 with the implementation of the Quintiq Scheduler.
Since then, the stainless steel producer has expanded its use of Quintiq’s planning software to optimise various elements of its operations, from logistics to forecasting and demand planning. The software integrated well into the company''s existing SAP system, claims Quintiq, to deliver substantial improvements on various projects.
A new implementation from Quintiq will fully integrate and provide visibility of workflows in over 40 of the steelmaker’s production facilities.
The software is designed to optimise planning for inbound and outbound logistics, steelmaking, and rolling. The latest implementation will help Outokumpu accelerate improvements in productivity, efficiency and customer fulfillment.
