All Africa reported that the process of restarting production of the blast furnace n1 of the steel complex ArcelorMittal Annaba, launched at the end of last week, allowed producing 1,500 tonnes of liquid steel per day.
Mr Mohamed Kedha, the complex'' director of communication said that “Interrupted in June for repairing and maintenance works of blast furnace n 1, the production will gradually increase to reach 2,000 tonnes of liquid steel per day to supply steelworks.”
Mr Kedha said that with the resumption of the activity of the blast furnace n 1 and importation of semi finished products to ensure the continuity of the complex'' production line, the administration of ArcelorMittal seeks to maintain the production of 60,000 tonnes of steel products per month until the launch of investment plan for the year 2015.
