SMS Group to modernize POSCO's wire & rod mills-The 20th China (Guangzhou) Int’l Spring Industry Exhibition

The German equipment manufacturer, SMS Group, officially announced that South Korean POSCO, which currently has an annual production capacity of approximately 540,000 tons of wire rods and rods, had already been utilized in the automotive industry. SMS will be impending to modernize and further expand the concrete product grade and size range for POSCO in house wire and rod mills.
In addition, POSCO expected to base on this modernization project and aim at improving the quality of the rolled surface of the rod, providing much better coil shape and forming through a scratch-free conveyor system for automotive and specialty steel markets.
