Taiwanese stainless steel wire rod exports drop in Feb-The 19th China (Guangzhou) Int’l Spring Industry Exhibition

According to the statistics from Taiwan Steel and Iron Industries Association, the exports of Taiwanese stainless steel wire rod were around 15,000 tons in January, mainly exported to Thailand and Malaysia.
In February, Taiwan exported around 13,000 tons of stainless steel wire rod, mainly exported to Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 3,000 tons in the same month of last year.
The market participants said that the decrease might be due to the Lunar New Year holidays in February, and Southeast Asian mills were also suspended, leading the exports had a slight drop.
As for the imports, Taiwan imported around 2,400 tons of stainless steel wire rod this January, up by 104% compared to the same period a year ago. The imports in February reached around 1,800 tons, a year-on-year increase of 89%.
