Mobarakeh Steel and Khouzestan Oxin Steel ink pact to make pipeline steel in iran-The 17th China(Guangzho

Tehran Times reported that Iran has achieved self-sufficiency in the production of steel sheets for the manufacturing of gas pipes, as a deal was made between Mobarakeh Steel Company and Khouzestan Oxin Steel Company, two Iranian major steel companies, for the production of this type of steel.
Addressing a ceremony to sign the mentioned deal, Mobarakeh Steel Company Managing Director Mr Bahram Sobhani said imports of steel, to be used for the manufacturing of oil and gas pipes, is not economically viable for the country. He said Mobarakeh Steel Company and Khouzestan Oxin Steel Company have made a huge investment for the production of this type of steel sheet and making the country self-sufficient in this due.
Khouzestan Oxin Steel Company Managing Director Mr Aziz Qanavati, for his part, referred to the capabilities of Iranian producers in the production of steel sheets and said Iranian steel products compete with the European ones both in quality and price. He said Iran needs one million tons of steel sheets for the manufacturing of oil and gas pipes per annum; emphasizing that the country has the capacity to meet this requirement relying on its own capabilities.
