Yonhap reported that Dongkuk Steel Company, South Korea''s third largest mill will absorb Union Steel Company next year in a bid to boost its output and overall competitiveness. The company said that its board of directors officially approved the merger earlier in the day. The move effectively concludes all necessary steps needed to bring Union Steel into Dongkuk''s fold.
