According to the statistics from Japanese customs, the exports of Japanese stainless steel scrap totaled around 13,000 tons this September, down by 11.8% compared to the previous month.
Among them, the exports to India and Thailand had a month-on-month decline while those to South Korea dropped, which also led a decrease in overall exports.
Taiwanese imports of stainless steel flat rolled products and slab increased, causing a decline in crude stainless steel production and stainless steel scrap imports. Besides, South Korea increased its imports of pig iron from Indonesia, which also led a drop in stainless steel scrap.
