According to the report, the European Union announced to impose the temporary import duties up to 28.5% on imports of stainless steel products from China, due to these products obtained the unfair subsidy. Affecting Chinese enterprises included HBIS Group Co., Ltd, Shougang Group Co., Ltd and Jiangsu Shagang Group Co., Ltd, etc.
The EU imposed penalty duties on imports of hot-rolled steel products from China by 35.9% in June of 2017. In addition, the EU also increased the anti-dumping duties by 10% and 6% on imports rebar and cold rolled steel products from China. Chinese cold rolled steel flats and stainless steel product had been levied penalty duties over 40 measures in the EU up to now.
Some Chinese officials explained that the EU draws on China’s steel overcapacity as an excuse to claim that Chinese hot-rolled steel products threaten to damage industry in the EU.
