According to the report, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) and the domestic steel enterprises held the meeting based on resisting steel trade policies from the United States, participating enterprises including Posco, Hyundai Steel, Dongkuk Steel, Dongbu Steel and SeAH BESTEEL.
MOTIE expressed that US announced the exported restrictions on steel products from Korea last week, and these threatened South Korea''s invested programs in the U.S. MOTIE continued to review the solution with Korean enterprises in order to resolve the trade restriction.
In addition, President Trump based on Korean steel as case and announced the investigation of imports of steel products from foreign countries. United States Department of Commerce expected to release the result at the end of the month.
