Direct Metals, an international steel service center with locations in Kennesaw, Ga., and Waukegan, Ill., has provided serrated 7TW4 galvanized fabricated bar grating panels for the construction of an access ramp, platforms, and stairs as part of Atlanta’s Historic Fourth Ward BeltLine project—a new greenspace for the neighborhood to gather.
The access ramp, platforms, and stairs, which connect the Edgewood Avenue bridge to the Atlanta BeltLine’s Eastside Trail near the Krog Street Market, required 57,000 lbs. and 139 pieces of 3/16- and 1.5-in. fabricated bar grating panels. The bearing bars are 7/16 in. on center, which is ADA approved and high heel safe for walking traffic.
