Axis Pipe and Tube Inc, a Prolamsa Group company, announced receipt of American Petroleum Institute certifications API-5CT, API 5L and API Spec Q1, as well as ISO: 9001(2008), for its newly opened pipe and tubular products manufacturing facility in Bryan, Texas.
The USD 150 million plant, which serves the energy industry and construction markets, includes a slitting line, mill, and finishing floor. Production encompasses a variety of ERW API energy tubular products, including OCTG and line pipe in diameters through 16 in with wall thicknesses up to 0.625 in as well as standard and structural pipe and tube capabilities. The heat treatment and threading facilities are scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2015.
When it reaches its anticipated full production capacity of more than 300,000 tonnes, the facility expects to employ more than 285 people.
