45% of Chinese copper tube/pipe producers hold that copper prices will remain stable in the near term, according to the most recent SMM survey of 20 producers.
China’s inflation data matched forecasts, and reports from the euro zone and US were mixed, exerting limited influence on copper market. Meanwhile, technical indicators showed both resistance and support to copper prices. In this context, the upbeat US data and strong US dollar will trap copper prices in the current range.
25% of them are bearish due partly to the continued uptrend in the US dollar index. Besides, these producers feared that a comeback of geopolitical crisis and slumping crude prices will place pressure on emerging market.
