Russian steel pipe and railway wheel producer Vyksa Steel Works (VSW), a part of Russia-based OMK Group, has announced that it has produced its first batch of 355.6 mm diameter pipes for oil and gas pipelines.
The pipes, which have a wall thickness ranging from 5.6 mm to 12.5 mm, were produced at the modernized mill 203-530 in VSW''s third workshop. They were made from carbon steel grades produced by OMK''s casting and rolling complex in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
VSW''s new pipe range will be used for constructing major oil and gas pipelines in temperate climate zones. They are mostly intended for export and will be in demand in European Union countries and in the Middle East.
