Canadian government invests in upgrading Tenaris Algoma Tubes' seamless steel pipe plant- The 21st China (Guangzhou ) Int’l tube & pipe Processing Equipment Exhibition

The Canadian government said last Friday (July 26th) that it will spend CAD 16 million on a CAD 36.3 million’s plan, which would create 88 jobs for Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario and Calgary in Alberta and retained 516 job opportunities.
The Minister of Border Security and Organized Crime Reduction, Bill Blair, had announced that the investment would help Tenaris Algoma Tubes to update its seamless steel pipe mill in Sault Ste. Marie and Prudential welded pipe mill in Calgary, as well as to supply more products to the Canadian energy industry, including highly corrosion-resistant steel grades dedicated to drilling and mining.
Guillermo Moreno, the president of Tenaris in Canada, said in a statement that Canada''s energy resources development required high-quality oil well pipe products, a plan that was critical to the energy industry.

The transaction will be financed by the cash held within the US of approximately USD 100 million and the remainder from our bank facility. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. It is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2019. |
