Peru ends AD investigation on rebar from Brazil- The 20th China (Guangzhou ) Int’l tube & pipe Processing Equipment Exhibition

The National Institute for the Defense of Free Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) of Peru announced that the anti-dumping (AD) investigation on imports of rebar from Brazil was ended. This investigation was begun in November 2017 after a petition filed by local steel producer Aceros Arequipa.
The HS code of involved products were 7213.10.00.00, 7213.20.00.00, 7213.99.00.00, 7214.99.10.00, 7214.20.00.00, 7214.99.90.00, 7217.10.00.00 and 7228.30.00.00. The diameters of the involved products were 3/8 mm, 5/8 mm, 3/4 mm, 1/2 mm, 1 mm, 1 3/8 mm, 6 mm, 8 mm and 12 mm.
To finalize the AD determination, Indecopi not only considered whether the involved products were dumped into Peru between October 2016 and September 2017, but also determined whether those products caused a harmful effects to the Peruvian industry from January 2014 to September 2017.
