LME nickel price was in an upward trend and rose to nearly US$13,000/MT recently. The international nickel price once rose to the highest in two and a half years.
Taiwanese stainless steel mills, included Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd., was expected to raise their prices for February due to the significant cost increase.
As the stainless steel industry was related to the nickel price, the rise of nickel price would benefit the industry and its related participants.
