KOBELCO, the third largest steel company in Japan, has admitted to revise the technical data of several products to meet the requirement of clients.
According to the enterprise, it was found in August by an internal investigation that three factories and one subsidiary under the name of KOBELCO have altered the original data of some of the aluminium and copper products for a quite long time.
These defective products accounted for about 4% of the total annual production of the company and have affected about 200 Japanese companies, which mostly used these products to manufacture automobiles or aeroplanes.
