Here we will introduce some bearing companies who are the most famous ones in the bearing industry in the world. All of them are giants and with long history. Some of them invent the new type of bearings and change our world.
SKF
The headquarter of SKF Group is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. She is the leader of the bearing technology and manufacturing. Sven Wingquist invented the double row self-aligning ball bearing in 1905, and then established the Svenska Kullargerfabriken (Abbr.: SKF) in 1907.
Now, the business of SKF has covered 130 countries and regions around the world. And she manufactures and sells over 500 millions of bearings every year.
FAG
In 1883, Friedrich Fischer invented the spherical grinding machine, and so the absolute spherical steel ball can be made. This invention is acknowledged as the foundation of the whole rolling bearing industry. FAG is the first company that manufactures the rolling bearing, and she is the pioneer of the rolling industry.
NSK
NSK was established in 1916, she is the number one brand in the Japan bearing industry.
KOYO
Koyo Seiko Co., Ltd was established in 1921. She is the number there famous and biggest bearing company in Japan.
NTN
NTN was established in 1918. She specialized in R&D and manufacturing super precision bearings.
NACHI
Nachi was established in 1928. She is one of Japanese 4 biggest and most famous bearing companies.
TIMKEN
TIMKEN is the world leading manufacturer of senior engineering bearings and alloy steel. She has more than 100 factories and offices in 25 countries around the world.
In 1985, the company founder Henry Timken designed a kind of tapered roller bearing. And this is a revolutionary technological design. The tapered roller bearing can significantly reduce the friction, and so was widely applied in many industries and products. Now Timken is the world largest manufacturer of tapered roller and the world second largest manufacturer of needle roller bearings.
INA
INA Bearing Company is the branch of Germany Schaeffler Group. It was established in 1946, and located in Nuremberg, Germany. INA has over 30 factories and 30,000 staff around the world.
There are still many world famous bearing companies not introduced in this article, such as NMB, SAMICK, UBC, IKO, ASAHI, and TORRINGTON.
